The Silversword: Home > Sports > Finally, A “Home” Game
On March 12 and April 10, the women’s softball team will play a home game at Palolo Valley District Park.
“We want to play in Palolo because we want more fans, more student support,” said head softball coach Kent Yamaguchi.
Currently the team practices at Palolo Park and plays their games at Central Oahu Regional Park (CORP) in Waipio. The Ladyswords have to compete with many community and local school sports leagues for field time.
Coach Kent said the Palolo community loves the team and would have their full support when they come to play.
Chaminade is working with the city to adopt a park for the team to call their own. This means the team would find an empty or a less-used park and turn it into a proper softball park.
Coach Kent added that he would like to play at least 80 percent of the home games at Palolo Park in the future.
