The Silversword: Home > Sports > Golf Team Hopes to Reverse Losing Trend
Chaminade has been competing in the golf world for the past five years and are “always last place, never better,” says one team member. Hopefully this semester they’ll do better.
The four players on the Golf Team are Captain, Layne Morita a senior majoring in History from Kauai, Kyle Neuman, a senior majoring business administration from Ewa Beach, Brett Hasenmueller, a freshman from St. Louis, Mo double majoring in criminal justice and business administration, and Jordan Oda, a freshman studing criminal justice freshman from Kauai.
Their season started on March 4 and will end in the month of April.
In the opening match, the Silverswords played at the Fazio Golf Course at Turtle Bay against Hawaii Pacific University and host BYU-Hawaii. The Swords came in last with a team score of 365. Neuman shot an 87 to lead the Silverswords.
On March 8, the Silverswords were scheduled to host a tournament at the Kaneohe Klipper Course. Then, on March 10-13, they will compete in a tournament in Waialua, Kauai, hosted by Western Kentucky University.
The Pac-West championship date is to be announced at a later time.
