Givin’ It Up For Lent

Dwight Narruhn, Staff Writer

During this time of year, Chaminade University of Honolulu recognizes the season of Lent.

For those of the Catholic faith, Lent is a season of fasting for 40 days and 40 nights. Fasting is an act of a sacrifice in peoples’ daily life, or something people like to do for personal improvement.

Some give up an addiction during this time, some set goals to challenge themselves. The Silversword asked several CUH folks, Catholic or not, who are participating in the Lenten season what they are giving up:

Margaret Uiagalelei
Campus Minister for Retreats

Natalie Mavrovich
Long Beach, California
Senior, International Trade and Finance

Andrea Guerrero
Rancho Cucamonga, California
Senior, Forensic Science

Chris Villabla
Big Island
Senior, Accounting major

Lateice Robinson

Sophomore, General Education
