Island Dentist Gives $1M Gift

Shannon Sadler, Staff Writer

A Hawaii dentist and member of Chaminade’s Board of Regents, Dr. Lawrence Tseu, has pledged a gift of $1 million towards Chaminade’s center for nurse education within the school of nursing.

The center will be named the Dr. Lawrence And Bohing Chan Tseu Center For Nurse Education.  The name honors Dr. Tseu’s late wife, BoHing Chan Tseu.

The gift will be used to enhance facilities, currently under construction, that include a state-of-the-art nursing skills laboratory.

The university is preparing to introduce its Bachelor of Science in nursing Fall 2010, upon approval by the Hawaii State Board of Nursing. The new program will expand Chaminade’s Division of Natural Sciences and Mathematics.
