Rise Against (Pipeline)
Jenny Lewis (Pipeline)
4-18
Flogging Molly (Pipeline)
For a mere $27, you can thrash with the best of them at Pipeline with Flogging Molly. This band, often listened to by skaters and soccer players, sings Irish punk ballads that I would hesitate paying $10 to see. There aren’t many tickets available, so plan on scalping them. –CV
4-25
Sheryl Crow (Waikiki Shell)
Starting around $70, Sheryl Crow herself will be playing at the Waikiki Shell. If it makes you happy and you have a few dollars to spend, it should be fairly righteous. For me, all I wanna do is have some fun, so I could very well splurge and attend this majestic show. Thanks Sheryl Crow, I now know that the first cut is the deepest. –CV

Honolulu International Film Festival Spring Showcase (Dole Cannery)
The bastardized version of film that Hollywood big-budget blockbusters represent is at the forefront of most peoples’ minds when they think of cinema. And while it’s easy to see why (consider the nature of publicity), this does a disservice to film as art for those who lack multi-million dollar budgets. Luckily, film festivals, such as the HIFF, allow people the opportunity to transcend the usual offerings and experience something a bit more off the beaten path. And while many of the films are foreign and feature subtitles, at least your date will think you are cultured. Score one for sophistication. --MK

“Observe and Report”
4-24
“The Soloist”
5-1
“X-Men: Wolverine”
“The Limits of Control”
“Battle for Terra”
4-6 Texas Hold’em Tournament (Student Center 5:30p.m.)
While the rewards for emerging victorious won’t be quite as numerous and luxurious as winning the World Series of Poker, Chaminade Card Club’s attempts to bring a bit of Vegas flair to campus is a solid gamble for students. Complimentary food and possible cash prizes for no buy-in is hardly a sucker bet. So roll the dice on the 6th and give lady luck a try. Even though I will be taking all of your chips, I promise I will try to refrain from making anymore horrible Vegas puns. --MK
4-8 Blood Drive (Freitas)
4-25 Commencement Ball
