Letters to the Editor: March 9, 2009

Please, Mr. Postman, Look At Me

Dear Chaminade students, staff and faculty. I am the Silversword Letters Page.

Usually, my page is full of commentary about the previous Silversword issues. Some of it is positive, and some of it is negative. All of it is much appreciated.

But, for this issue, the March 9 edition, my page is a blank slate.

Did you not read the issue?

Did you not wish to learn about all the stories going on around campus?

Had you read the issue, your heart would no doubt have swelled with pride over the lead story on Black History Month.

Music! Poetry! Let freedom ring!

Then there was the wonderful story and pictures of Coach Earl and Chaminade students helping kids in Palolo learn how to play hoops. Local kine, brah!

Or how about Russ Thoulag’s rant on the lack of proper medical facilities on campus? I tell you, that crazy Russ, “He’s Just Sayin’!”

But I digress.

In closing, next month, when the April 6 online edition of the Silversword is posted, we are hoping that you, our dear readers, will share your manao – thoughts, ideas, feelings, opinions – about your very own student-run newspaper.

We’d sure appreciate it. Because it’s quite lonely being a blank slate. And boring.

Mahalo nui loa.
