The Silversword: Home > Letters to the Editor
Aloha Silversword newspaper staff. I have been receiving emails about the Chaminade Newspaper, so I decided to click on the link to see what the college has been up to. The stories in the paper are good; all of the staff members have taken the time to put their own personalities into each story.Katie, I enjoyed your article on attendance (Professors worse than parents with class attendance, Fall Issue 2, Oct. 20), you had very valid points. I feel that you took the time to speak your mind in the polite manner and at the same time you were being the voice for the student body. Chad Blair, you have done a great job transforming the paper and advising the students about how a real paper works. Your experience at the PBN has reflected upon these students and is clearly seen while reading the articles.
I love how the paper is easy to read online and is sent to alumni and community members. Silversword staff, keep up the good work and I wish I were taking this class. When I was the newspaper class there was no direction, now that you have a direction, keep your eye on the prize, and keep up all the hard work!
Good luck this semester, and I look forward to reading more issues in the future.

Silversword Writers, I enjoyed your first issue, I felt it was very strong and I anticipated the release of the second. I enjoyed the stories and pictures. My applause goes to the Chaminade Life and Sports sections, although I did enjoy each article.
My only complaint is the lack of editing on “Halloween Treats” (Fall Issue 2, Oct. 20). This article is a huge disappointment. Not only are there errors, but also the directions are hard to follow and there is a lack of pictures. I find recipes are best when pictures are included. Other than that, keep up the great work and I can't wait until the next issue comes out.

Aloha. Just wanted to let you know that The Silversword online looks great! I think in this format, the paper is much more accessible to everyone on campus.

After reviewing newly sprouted competition it was solidified in my mind that the Silversword is still the standard as a professional, relevant and now technologically advanced campus publication. The staff is experienced and provides me with information that is not only credible but also oriented to a positive Chaminade ohana. The Silversword sets a high bar, and I can't wait to see the staff reach it once again in the next issue. Toodles!
